Pat has often been compared to Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and more often Mel Torme. He sings Jazz, Pop, and The Standards.

Thursday 3/15 - Azzaam Hameed & Annette Harris

Azzaam Hameed's musical roots are derived from gospel, having grown up in a Pentecostal church environment. However, he did receive some formal training as a teenager, including classical music and theory when he enrolled as a student at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He pursued music on a full-time basis for several years, performing throughout the Northeast in several locally based Top-40 groups, but ultimately he decided to abandon the "road circuit" for a more predictable lifestyle and, in doing so, developed a more versatile style as both a pianist and a vocalist.  Azzaam's musical style incorporates a tasteful blend of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, and Gospel, with colorful accents of Latin and Brazilian overtones. One can hear the influence of Ahmad Jamal (pianist), McCoy Tyner (pianist), Ramsey Lewis (pianist), Joe Sample (pianist), George Duke (pianist/vocalist), Lonnie Liston Smith (pianist) in the melodic overtones on the piano.  It is not a far stretch to say one also hears nuances of Johnny Hartman, Lou Rawls and Joe Williams when he sings. Azzaam is the Organist/Pianist at Friendship Baptist Church, Schenectady, NY, where he has served in this capacity since 1986.  http://www.smoothkeys.com

He has performed with a variety of ensembles, been music director for stage productions, and has composed, performed and recorded original music. Douglas is also the musician and Choir Director at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Mike Lamkin on B3 organ is a fabulous keyboardist, pianist and organ player. Mike has the special skill of walking the bass line from his left hand and his foot pedals while playing some smokin' jazz lines and artful comping. Mike can really crank it up and can also play some really sweet organ sounds!

Mike Novakowski is a special guitarist that is in high demand in the regional jazz community. Mike performs with the Empire Jazz Orchestra as well as the Teresa Broadwell Band and anyone else lucky enough to book him. Mike plays tasty lines and swings in the tradition of Wes Montgomery and Kenny Burrell.

The exciting duo of Sonny Daye and Perley Rousseau achieves a rare musical symbiosis. The husband and wife team have spent the last several years developing and perfecting their unique blend of Jazz, Brazilian and International Cabaret which has become their musical signature. They engagingly perform the timeless standards of the Great American Songbook su! ch as Gershwin, Berlin and Porter as well as the irresistible Brazilian melodies of Antonio Carlos Jobim.  They keep a busy schedule touring with their trio, quartet or quintet performing for concerts, festivals and cabaret shows. Their three CD releases "Love Dance" 1996, "East of the Sun" 1999, and "Let It Happen" 2004 have generated international air play and received critical acclaim. It is in live performance, however, where Sonny and Perley truly shine. Throughout New York, New England and in Europe, the duo has captivated audiences with their warmth, musical honesty and broad repertoire often sprinkled with spontaneous, charming and humorous banter that only a 20 year marriage can enliven!  http://www.sonnyandperley.com

Friday 3/30 - Carla Metz & Larry Acunto

Duo - Carla Metz / Larry Acunto

Carla's vocal style developed through a variety of work over 20 years, beginning with her favorite, the classic standard, sung from the crook of a piano at a "speakeasy" near Boston Massachusetts. She worked throughout New England with duos, trios and full bands in establishments both luxurious and questionable!  Her exposure to so many types of music - and her first love, the classic standard - find her, and those who listen, enjoying music from the past with a contemporary flair and a few surprises from the present.  Larry has been playing one instrument or another for over four decades including performing with such luminaries as Steve Howe (Yes), Ian McDonald (King Crimson/Foreigner), Gene Cornish (Rascals) and others.  He has settled on the guitar (and occasionally the bass guitar and ukulele) to support the magnificent song styling's of Carla.  This "Duo" found each other about a year ago after each moved into the Albany and Saratoga area.  Friends of Duo speak not only of their musical diversity, but also about the ease at which the two musicians work, and the laughter that winds the tunes together.  Come and enjoy!
